Grunge legend Chris Cornell was found dead in his hotel room at the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit by a family friend around midnight May 18th. Cornell was an important icon in the 1990’s grunge rock movement, first putting his vocal and percussion talents behind Soundgarden, later creating the bands Audioslave and Temple of the Dog, both running alongside his own solo pursuits.
