Lindsey Buckingham Announces First Solo Tour Since Heart Attack

Almost exactly a year since his heart attack last year, Lindsey Buckingham has announced a new solo tour.

The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist will play 12 shows this spring, beginning with a date April 25 in Las Vegas and wrapping up May 13 in El Cajon, California.

Buckingham had to undergo emergency heart surgery last February after having a cardiac episode. His wife, Kristen Buckingham, explained at the time that while the emergency surgery was successful, her husband's vocal cords were damaged during the ordeal. At the time that it was "unclear if the damage [was] permanent."

Kristen emphasized that their family was feeling "fortunate" Lindsey was still alive. Heart problems run in his side of the family; she noted that the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer (who was 69 at the time) has already lived to an older age than his father and brother did.

Lindsey has mostly stayed out of the public eye since his health emergency. His first performance since the surgery came last May when he accompanied his daughter Leelee's high school class on guitar, as they sang the Fleetwood Mac classic "Landslide."

In December, Buckingham confirmed his coming appearance at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee.
